Default Ranger or Paragon

Hello I plan to do gvsg pvp to go with FA and I am wondering if I should do a Ranger or a Paragon. I want to deal DAMAGE and have some heals.

Personally i would choose ranger, but play around with the classes abit. looks at some builds from pvxwiki and see which of the two you enjoy the most

I would take ranger, ranger works better in FA then paragon, but in JQ paragon works nicely.

I don't really know how to put it other than this so here goes (bear with me). Rangers will do 10 damage while paras do 7 but make each party member do +1. Rangers heal 7 and paras heal 5+1 for each party member near you. Something like that? Kinda weird but hope it helps. Also para has a higher armor than rangers so you will get hurt less (even against elemental because of your shield).

You want a Ranger. But in PvP, Rangers are not for damage, they are for interrupts and spreading conditions. Paragons dont really have much to offer in PvP unless you have more than one.

And the only self heals you should need are Antidote Signet or Mending Touch.

Neither ranger or para do really great damage, unless you go with pure damage build, which can hurt you more then they will help.

Rangers have greater ranger over paragons so they dont need the extra armor, they also can attack from a high point like say the fort aspenwood wall for kurzicks high the paragon can't do, since and I haven't tested this but I'm pretty sure its like this, that for paragons to be able to attack from that same wall the enemy has to be right outside the wall at which point the paragon cant hit them because he will be attacking the ground.

Paragon are a support class and rangers are a annoyance class.

For Fort Aspenwood where your objective is to have control of the mine a rangers range and conditions help it take mines very easily.Paragons have to use their damage which isn't the great and puts them in attack ranger to do the same.

I guess if your playing on the luxon side a paragon is more useful then on the kurzick side, since most of the time your allies (don't forget the turtle and warriors) are near you pushing their base, so you could leave the capping of mines to other better suited classes and stick with a group and increase the groups capabilities.

Paragon works good in JQ since you can help your carrier get its materials and make sure it doesn't go down easily or at all and your skills can also help the "towers", but your better guarding the carrier.

Rangers are also a class which works great in all kinds of pvp.

In defense of paragons in FA, they do have some use on the Kurzick side. You can use protting and defensive shouts on the other side of the gates, to keep NPCs alive longer.
I'd advise Empathic Removal or Angelic Bond as your elite.

Fall back will help with the initial smash and grab at the purple mine, but often someone else brings it so it's not a reason in itself.

Your anthems will boost physical damage NPCs and can again slow down a turtle group.

Lastly your armor and lack of spike damage make you a low priority target, often ignored.

So it's very easy to get close to a monk and bonk him with Spear Swipe for a timely daze.

So play both a para and a ranger in FA. With approx. 5 days or so between ZCs, you can get at least 3 victories with both and get the extra faction.
